Pattern drafting—Bodice
In this class we will be learning the basics of pattern drafting by making a perfectly fit bodice sloper. Slopers are amazing tools that can be used to achieve an infinite number of designs if you know how to manipulate them. Here is what we will cover in this weekend workshop:
-Extensive measurements.
-Drafting a pattern block based on each student's individual measurements.
-Sewing muslin mockups.
-Fitting our muslin mockups and transferring our pattern corrections to a finished block.
-Dart manipulation to take a simple two dart sloper and make it extraordinary.
Materials kit available.
Instructor Caroline Cook says:
I have been a passionate sewist since high school, but my fervor for sewing my own clothes came to the forefront in my mid twenties. I have trained as a costume designer and technologist and I currently work for the University of Virginia in that capacity. I have spent years honing my craft and I take great pride in couture finishing. I look forward to helping you create a garment you will treasure.
