Sewing Underpants—scrap busting your knits

  • 121 South Main Street Lexington, VA 24450 USA (map)

Learn to sew underpants!

Maybe you’ve made a t-shirt or two, or maybe you are a fabric collector and you want to do something with the jersey fabric you’ve been hoarding, I mean collecting.

Underpants are a great scrap busting project and when you make them you get to use some fun stitches and fun supplies.

This class is for someone who has sewn with knit fabric before.

What you’ll learn:

  • Materials used in sewing underpants at home

  • Suggestions for fit/style adjustments so you can customize your next pair

Requirements:

  • Interest in making your own underpants.

  • Some experience sewing with knit fabric

  • A sewing machine that sews zig-zag. But don’t let this keep you from signing up. We have some available to loan, but ask soon.

Students will be required to have their own pattern, and I will have a list of options soon. We are in the process of stocking some elastic options for your use, too.

Sign up online.
